Chattanooga State
Technical Community College
is a comprehensive, regionally accredited community college. Founded in 1965, Chattanooga State serves a six-county area of Southeast Tennessee and bordering counties of North Georgia and Alabama as an open-entry postsecondary institution offering over 50 majors of study toward AA, AS and AAS degrees as well as a wide array of certificate studies and university parallel (transfer) studies. Chattanooga State operates Middle College High School — a traditional high school alternative for talented students seeking to earn high school diplomas and college credit simultaneously. The college maintains numerous partnerships with secondary schools (dual enrollment programs), state and community agencies, and the private sector. Chattanooga State has a highly regarded inventory of continuing education courses including adult education classes, GED preparation classes, ESL classes, professional development classes, career transitional courses, career development courses, technological and occupational training classes, and personal enrichment classes in cultural, environmental and health issues. Chattanooga State offers classes at its main campus on Amnicola Highway in Chattanooga, at several satellite campuses in its service area, and through alternate delivery means such as extensive on-line and hybrid courses.
